Basenji

Basenji means “bush thing” and originated in central Africa as a speedy hunting dog. It is famous as the “barkless dog”, but does make interesting noises like a chortle or yodel. The Basenji grooms itself like a cat, is a very clean dog and requires very little grooming. It is gentle with children while at the same time playful and intelligent.
