Belgian Sheepdog

The Belgian Sheepdog is one of the four varieties of Belgian Shepherd dogs. It is known in most of the world as a Belgian Shepherd Groenendael, after the village in Belgium where it originated. The Belgian Sheepdog is striking with its long all black coat. Like the other Belgian Shepherds, it is intelligent and alert, requiring exercise and a job to do. During World War I, Belgian Sheepdogs became known fpr their work on the battlefields, serving as message carriers, ambulance dogs, and even pulling machine guns.
