Bedlington Terrier

In the 1870’s, coal miners in England needed a dog that could ‘do everything’.The Bedlington Terrier was developed that could swim after otter, run down a rabbit, was a good watchdog and was well behaved. The Bedlington Terrier resembles a lamb, but is a livelier dog than that, and is capable of a formidable fight. Probably having a whippet in its ancestry, the Bedlington is capable of great speed, and has a unique galloping ‘roll’ in full stride. A Bedlington Terrier adores children, is a good family pet, and will serve as a competent watchdog.
