The Bulldog can trace its ancestry to the Molossus, a fighting dog of the ancient Greeks. Its name came from the part it played in the sport of bull baiting. The Bulldog is courageous and intelligent, and although may appear ferocious, is a very even-tempered, calm dog. Due to its general build and nose, the Bulldog cannot tolerate heat or high activity level.
