Hector Guerra’s whimsical imagery, sly sense of humor and “in-your-face” style have brought this Texas native international recognition. Guerra’s art is characterized by splashes of vibrant color and bold outlines. His deep connection with his childhood, comic book art and the stained glass windows of Houston’s churches are the influences most reflected in his work.
To Hector, the creative process is an organic one. “To me, I’m like a child and his coloring book. I love to put as many colors and patterns as I can.” All artwork is created using colored and water-color pencils.
Hector currently teaches art at Rice University, when time allows.
