Japanese Chin

The Japanese Chin or Japanese Spaniel has been a favorite of Japanese emperors for over 1000 years. Probably sharing ancestry with Pugs and Pekinese, some Japanese Chin dogs were so small they were kept in hanging bird cages.Two Japanese Spaniels were presented to Queen Victoria in 1853 by Commodore Perry on his return from Japan. A Japanese Chin is a playful, friendly dog that adapts well to small spaces and needs only moderate exercise. It is good with children, and noted for its large, dark far apart eyes
