Marc Tetro was born in Ste. Anne, Manitoba, Canada, and now divides his time between Canada and the U.S. His very first drawings were inspired by the art of Pablo Picasso during a 1985 exhibition at the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts. He used the T-shirt to create a summer job and at the same time began his artistic career.
He has been commissioned by organizations as diverse as West Point Academy, the Montreal Urban Transit Commission, Walt Disney Company, UNEB Brazil, Kentucky Center for the Arts, the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, the World Philharmonic Orchestra (Concert for Peace), Rocky Aoki Foundation, CanFAR, World Wildlife Fund, Yellowstone National Park and the New York City ASPCA.
In the Fall of 2001, Inuk, a children's animated series based on his original art and introducing an Inuit boy and his husky dog debuted nationwide on the CBC and is currently broadcast in over 35 territories around the world. Due to its overwhelming success, the second season of Inuk has begun production for future broadcast.
In February 2002 Friends Bulldog, an original acrylic on canvas made several appearances on the set of the NBC hit sitcom Friends. Following this are commissions by the Humane Society of Greater Miami, DIFFA Atlanta and Human Rights Campain, (HRC) Atlanta.
In Fall of 2003, New Boots for Hudson, the 6th book for kids, is launched in Miami, Manitoba and Miami, Florida. 2004 saw the birth of a new format: Board Books for the youngest of readers.
