Spitz

The Spitz was developed in a variety of Arctic countries. Dogs such as Akita, Chow Chows as well as lesser known Japanese, Finnish and Norrbotten (Swedish) Spitz were bred to hunt and herd in their respective areas of the world, and many still rarely are seen elsewhere. They are courageous, loyal and intelligent dogs. They have beautiful coats of varying colors, and all Spitz dogs, carry their tails high and over the back.
